Beaverbrook Heritage Ottawa Walking Tour June 2018

Bill Teron created Beaverbrook in the mid-60's as a complete "Garden City", where Nature is the dominant theme, with 40% green space and "Mid Century Modern" home and public building Architecture.

On June 17 @ 2 PM, there will be a tour starting from the Community Centre at the Beaverbrook Mall <map> there will be a 10 minute introduction presentation at the Community Centre followed by a 90 minute walking tour

This event does have a cost Heritage Ottawa Walking Tours - $5 for Heritage Ottawa members and $10 for non-members

The KBCA and CFUW are hosting an All Candidates Meeting for the upcoming Ontario Provincial Election riding of Kanata Carleton

 We are looking for volunteers for:

 - the welcome table

 - to select questions for Candidates from those submitted by email/at the door

 - as timekeepers for the Candidates (2, 3 minute limit on statements/question responses)

The Hydro One public meeting to wrap up the work (and get feedback) done on Homeowner’s properties in Beaverbrook during Feb/Mar this winter has finally been rescheduled for:

  • When: Monday, May 14, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Where: Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Dr.

Hydro One and the City of Ottawa have come to agreement on the work to be done on City Property along the Hydro One Corridor bordering Beaverbrook and Kanata Lakes so we can expect an update from Hydro One on what work will be done later in May and possibly from the City Parks/Forestry depts.

There will be a celebration of life/tribute event for Bill Teron (invitation attached)
