Community Event

The Kanata Beaverbrook Community Association (KBCA) is hosting an information session about co-existing with wildlife in our neighbourhood by Kate MacNeil, Executive Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre.  It will take place on Monday, October 15 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Beaverbrook Community Centre and is open to all.

Connecting to Nature – Backyards and Beyond

We are very fortunate that in the Nation’s Capital, not only do we have an abundance of nature to explore at our fingertips, but we also have a significant range of species that live in and around our city.

The Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre will talk about some of the amazing species that we share our spaces with. This will include what actions we can take to help mitigate human/wildlife conflicts in our backyards and neighbourhoods.

When we learn to coexist with other species, it allows us to connect and enjoy the natural world.  There is growing evidence of the benefits nature has to offer people of all ages.  It is far reaching, encompassing mind, body and spirit.

For 30 years the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre has been educating people about wildlife and helping to foster an appreciation of the natural world.
