Development Committee

You can learn a lot on this committee and make a solid contribution to your community and the City of Ottawa.  Monitor goings-on at Ottawa City Hall for zoning changes in our neighbourhood or proposals for new development. Communications

The KBCA is looking for a communications director to craft articles for newspapers, blog sites, our web sites and responses and appeals to politicians and agencies.

Membership Committee

This committee oversees a door-to-door membership drive every fall and throws a great Christmas party to thank everyone who participated. Over 50 canvassers make up the rest of the committee!

Beaverbrook Character and Heritage Committee

The City of Ottawa has approved $250,000 for a Heritage Designation study for Beaverbrook to start in lat 2014. We are looking for volunteers to participate in understanding the last 50 years and planning how to evolve our community over the next 50. You will have the opportunity to work with Heritage, Historical, Architecture and Urban living experts from around the City.

Special Events

KBCA’s clean-up day is fun and effective!  Everyone on the KBCA is involved in this morning of spring cleaning our neighbourhood.  We top it off with a free hot-dog lunch!

Individual Expertise

Students, retirees and professionals including lawyers, computer specialists, urban planners, and accountants, are welcome to give special help.

Community Consultation

Come and get involved in bringing forward community services. You will meet residents and key community leaders serving one of Canada’s best communities!

KBCA is Kanata Beaverbrook Community Association a non-profit, volunteer community association making Beaverbrook a great place to live.

The 2024/2025 membership fees are offered at three levels:

  • $25 - Individual Membership
  • $50 - Household Membership

  • Representation of Beaverbrook to City of Ottawa on planning and other issues
  • Contacting the Mayor’s office to preserve community distinctiveness
  • Working our Cathy Curry, City of Ottawa Councillor for Kanata North, 
  • Managing the Beaverbrook Community Centre and three outdoor skating rinks
  • Organizing “The Great Beaverbrook Clean-Up Day and Community Picnic” in May
  • Caring for the two Beaverbrook entrance gardens.
  • Informative meetings, discussions and speakers at the Beaverbrook Community Centre, on topical local issues, like policing, schools, safety, traffic and community futures
  • Updating residents on local issues and handy links to other community-related sites
  • Support for Beaverbrook groups, including Scouts, Guides, various school activities, Kanata Youth Centre, Kanata Food Cupboard, and the Community Resource Centre
