The first and oldest neighbourhood in Kanata, Beaverbrook is a thriving community with the houses and streets designed in a park-like setting; a realization of the "Garden City". The community is known for its lush greenspace, walking paths, parkland, hedged houses and community facilities.
The area was mainly agricultural until the 1960’s when Bill Teron, a developer and urban planner, began to build a community that would suit the needs of the people for a complete lifestyle. When he started, it was only a cornfield, but now it is one of the most deirable communities in Kanata with it's beautiful mature trees, large residential lots, superb recreational facilities and proximity to schools, shopping and all amenities.
