The KBCA is looking for a new Treasurer with the retirement of our current Treasurer, Hugh Nelson.

The KBCA Treasurer is an Executive role in the Community Association, with the primary role of Financial Advisor. This role is supported by the Community Centre Coordination Manager and a part-time Bookkeeper.

Informal Summer Soccer Fun

Want to play with your friends and neighbors? Let’s meet in the park!!!

Where: Soccer field at Stephen Leacock elementary school, 25 Leacock drive, Kanata

Who: Kids (U11/U12), Kids (U8/U9/U10), Kids (/U6/U7), Kids (U4/U5), Mom and Dad who love soccer

When: Every Tue 7:00-8:00PM, June 23rd to Aug 25th, 2015

Cost: Families take turns bringing fruit and freezies. We also need donation $5/player to cover the cost for field booking fee charged by City of Ottawa, first aid kit and cones for training.

Free Home Energy Assessments for Beaverbrook Homes

Sustain Beaverbrook and EnviroCentre are seeking ten homeowners in Beaverbrook who would like a free Home Energy Assessment valued at $350. The assessment will help you find the most cost-effective ways to save money, improve home comfort, and minimize the impact on the environment. We are seeking a variety of home models that have not previously had an assessment. The results for each model will be shared on the Sustain Beaverbrook website to encourage peer-to-peer learning. (All identifying information will be removed.) More information and application forms are available on the Sustain Beaverbrook and are due June 15th.

Sustain Beaverbrook is organizing small-scale sustainability-focused projects in Beaverbrook.  The group is planning workshops, energy conservation programs, local food projects, and more.  If you would like to receive occasional updates about Sustain Beaverbrook's projects, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Fresh Food at Beaverbrook Centre
Sustain Beaverbrook's first project: Fresh local vegetables will be delivered on Thursday evenings to Beaverbrook Community Centre from mid-June until Thanksgiving.  Waratah Downs Organic Farm is offering a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program in which participating residents receive a share of the farmer's weekly produce. May 14th - Walkabiltiy Audit
A final Walkability Audit of Beaverbrook will take place on Thursday, May 14th at 6:30 pm. If you would like to volunteer, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. The volunteers will meet at the Beaverbrook Community Centre and traverse six different routes to various destinations, including the Senior's Centre and the Metro. We will evaluate the sidewalk and pathway conditions  using a check-list. This project is coordinated by Ottawa's Council on Aging, which is studying several communities in the City of Ottawa.
